Welcome to your healing journey

Hi, I’m Dani

I’m a counsellor and therapeutic support practitioner offering a gentle, grounded space for people to feel seen, supported, and more at home in themselves.

I work with people who are navigating life’s harder seasons, whether that’s anxiety, emotional overwhelm, stress, body image challenges, or the lasting impacts of trauma. If you have tried counselling before and it didn’t feel quite right, or you’re looking for something softer, more nurturing, and less clinical, this might be the space for you.

My approach is trauma-informed, intuitive, and person-centred. I don’t believe healing is about “fixing” what’s wrong. I believe it’s about reconnecting with who you are beneath the pain, patterns, and protective responses. Together, we explore the ways you’ve adapted to survive and work gently with body-based regulation practices, somatic tools, and emotional processing that feels right for you.

Alongside my counselling work, I’ve spent the past five years supporting people as a disability support worker. This experience has shaped my practice into something more holistic, blending therapeutic guidance, nervous system care, and real-world support.

If this kind of support resonates with you, you are welcome to book a session or get in touch with any questions. I’d love to connect when you are ready.

Healing isn’t about fixing you or trying to get rid of those parts of you that feel broken, it’s about coming back home to yourself and reconnecting with those parts of you that have been lost along the way.

What Clients Are Saying…

I’ve been working with Dani regularly for over a year now, and right from the very first session, I knew she was going to play a crucial role in my healing journey.
For the past 20 years, I’ve actively worked to heal from past traumas that have affected me deeply. I’ve had skilled psychologists who I’ve consistently seen during this time, and I’ve tried almost every type of alternative therapy I could get my hands on in the quest to feel happy and free again. My case is quite complex and layered, and all of my efforts with these different therapies definitely helped me to be a functioning person.
But when I met Dani, it was the first time I truly felt seen, heard, and cared for in a session.
She brings to her practice such care, enthusiasm, interest, hope, and respect for the individual. If we’d ever had a really revealing or emotional session, she never left me just reeling, like I’d experienced with other therapists in the past, again and again. She would always finish with a beautiful technique to help me feel whole, safe, and regulated, like I’d taken a real step toward soothing and reconciling the part of myself that needed it.
Dani also has so many tools up her sleeve that I’d never tried before, some of which I’ve responded to with such monumental healing I can’t even believe it.
I recommend Dani’s sessions so highly!
I don’t think there’s a much better gift you could give yourself.

My Services

  • Holistic Counselling Sessions

My counselling approach is grounded in the belief that healing begins when all parts of you are seen, supported, and understood.

I hold a Diploma in Holistic Counselling through The Awakening Group, where I trained under Brenda Sutherland. This model explores the full landscape of wellbeing, from nervous system function and attachment styles to relationships, early life experiences, coping mechanisms, and the influence of daily rhythms like sleep, nutrition, work, health and your support networks.

In our sessions, we gently tune into how your body and emotions are responding. Using trauma-informed, somatic, and integrative practices tailored to you, this work can support you to:

    • Regulate your nervous system and reduce overwhelm

    • Develop practical tools to manage emotional ups and downs

    • Understand and shift patterns shaped by your past

    • Build deeper self-awareness and resilience in daily life

    Sessions available:

    • Online via Zoom

    • In-person in Franklin, Tasmania

Therapeutic tools I may draw from include:

    • Somatic and nervous system regulation techniques

    • Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT Tapping)

    • Parts work and inner child healing

    • Guided visualisation and attachment-based support

    • Inquiry processes such as The Work of Byron Katie

    • Systemic approaches (e.g. structural constellations and genograms)

    • Dissolution and Freedom Technique (DFT)

Each session meets you exactly where you are, offering a supportive space to explore whatever is showing up for you.

  • NDIS-Aligned Therapeutic Support

With over five years of experience as a disability support worker, I’ve worked with people of all ages and abilities across a range of settings, including high-complex needs.

This background has deeply shaped my counselling practice, bringing a strong foundation of compassion, flexibility, and whole-person care.

I now offer holistic counselling and emotional support for NDIS participants who are self-managed or plan-managed. While I am not a registered NDIS provider, many clients access my services through Capacity Building – Improved Daily Living, depending on their plan.

Whether you’re navigating anxiety, trauma, identity, needing help with emotional regulation, or simply seeking a calm, steady space to be heard, I offer person-centred sessions tailored to your pace and needs.

Not sure if my support fits within your NDIS plan?

You’re welcome to reach out anytime. I am happy to talk it through with you or your support coordinator.

Please note: I am not a registered NDIS provider. However, my services may be eligible for self-managed or plan-managed participants, under categories such as Improved Daily Living or Core Supports, depending on your plan’s flexibility. It’s best to confirm with your support coordinator or plan manager.

Frequently Asked Questions

I offer a limited number of appointments each week to ensure I can be fully present for each client. If you don’t see a time that suits you on the booking calendar, feel free to contact me. I will do my best to accommodate you or let you know if a spot opens up.

  • Do I need a referral to book a session?
No. You can book a session directly with me, no referral required.

  • I’ve never done counselling before. Is this suitable for beginners?
Absolutely. Many of my clients are new to counselling. I offer a gentle, supportive approach where you can go at your own pace.

  • Can I use NDIS funding for sessions?
If you are self-managed or plan-managed, yes. My services are not registered with the NDIS but may be claimable under Capacity Building – Improved Daily Living or Core Supports. It’s always best to check with your plan manager or support coordinator.

  • What happens in a session?
Each session is led by what you need that day. We may explore emotions, nervous system patterns, past experiences, or use grounding tools. It’s a space to feel supported, understood, and gently guided, without pressure.

  • Where are you located?
I offer in-person sessions in Franklin, Tasmania, and online sessions Australia-wide via Zoom.

  • Is this the same as psychology?
No, I am not a psychologist. I’m a qualified holistic counsellor with a trauma-informed, body-based approach. Many people find this style more intuitive and relational than traditional therapy models.
